Doug & Susan Bineham were married on June 19, 2008. On June 20, 2008 they were on airplane headed to Moldova for a 14 day mission trip because they wanted a mission trip to be the first thing that they did together as a married couple. Moldova, a former Soviet Bloc country, is the poorest country in Europe and Doug & Susan are most likely the only Americans to ever honeymoon in that country.

Susan Bineham, an educator, is a manager in the division of review and support at the Texas Education Agency. She has a Ph.D. in Special Education Administration from the University of Texas. Susan has a Master’s in Education from Shriner University in Kerrville, Texas and a Master’s in Theology from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Psychology from UTSA.

Susan, the daughter of Bill & Gwynne Cadle, grew up in Leon Valley, a municipality, surrounded by the city of San Antonio, Texas. Bill Cadle was a gymnast at UT and later worked at NASA on the Saturn space project. Bill was a building contractor and passed his engineering mind and his handyman ability directly to Susan.

Doug Bineham, an attorney, is a managing partner of Bineham & Gillen, PLLC, one of the premier family law–divorce law firms in San Antonio, Texas. Doug received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University Law School in San Antonio and his B.A. in English with a minor in Biology from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas.

Doug was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and grew up in Bulverde, a community just north of San Antonio, Texas.  Doug’s parents, Mac & B.K. Bineham instilled in him a great love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing with many trips to his grandparent’s “Farm” when he was younger.  Mac always took time to have his son go with him on hunting trips from a young age, teaching him about ethical hunting and always stressing gun safety and responsibility.  Mac & B.K started the Bineham Mission Foundation to support missionaries all over the world.  Mac & B.K. have always supported Doug & Susan’s dream to have a working ranch.

We have an amazing family.  We have three lovely daughters Brandy, Farrin & Cassidy and their supportive husband’s Ryne, Christian, & Francisco and are blessed to have 10 grandkids with one on the way.  The love and support from our children and grandchildren has really lifted our spirits.

Doug was diagnosed at the end of 2015 with an aggressive fast growing frequently fatal cancer of the stomach & esophagus and a couple of lymph nodes.  Our faith, family, friends and sense of humor are what helped us through some dark days and nights.  In September of 2016 after an emergency exploratory surgery, the third of four major surgeries in 2016, the doctors told the family that they were not sure Doug would even make it through the night.

“Susan has been an angel from God lovingly nursing me back to health over the last two years. I doubt I would still be here but for Susan’s diligent and relentless care.” Doug

God has certainly placed some wonderful people in our lives without whom we don’t know how we would have been able to make it through these last two years.  Mere words cannot adequately express our thanks for everything the people in our lives have done for us.  We want to thank the following :

“James Gillen my law partner, friend & hardest working attorney I know is an amazing man. He has worked like a dog for two years to keep our firm afloat and to keep me from losing my health insurance. He sent me home more times than I can count, when he knew I wasn’t in any condition to be at the office. James you are the best!” Doug
